As the Regional Head for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal at the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Kuala Lumpur, she conceptualized robust plans for market development across various segments of the oil industry.

She initiated innovation and worked towards scaling up the value chain, creating better opportunities and business streams for multiple verticals. Based at the MPOC office in Mumbai, India, she played a key role in positioning palm oil as the single largest vegetable oil consumed in the region.

As India’s Country Chair, she works alongside global leaders, Nobel laureates, and policymakers to advance a sustainable future. With India facing critical climate challenges—from declining agricultural output to rising sea levels—she champions impactful, resilient practices across sectors.

Her focus is on creating awareness, driving action, and fostering long-term environmental and socio-economic sustainability at both national and global levels.

Bhavna Shah is the ex-independent director for Ruchi Soya Industries Limited (Ruchi Soya) and had contributed to its growth in the edible oil business with her expertise and experience. 

As a decisive leader, she handled diverse market dynamics and technologies to accelerate the company’s business in the market for the healthy range of edible oils. She worked towards better market penetration and directed cross-functional teams to provide strategies and solutions in different areas.

Bhavna is a regular contributor to international platforms, writing on palm oil, trade, marketing, and women empowerment. She has also co-authored several books, including Undefeated, Your Blooming Life, and Born to Bloom.

Through real, raw anecdotes, each book offers hope and a reminder that even the toughest moments can lead to blooming possibilities.
